Project Goals

Everyone in Durfee STEAM Lab is a contributor to the overall mission.

EnviroSound

An art-and-science project that turns environmental data into sound, funded by an MIT Sea Grant award.

Project files are on GitHub: github.com/coolguyalex/Monolith. School devices may block that site. More of it is coming to this page.

Competition

Take a project to the science and engineering fair, or to a regional robotics or rocketry competition.

Fair & deadlines

Independent project

Ask your own question, then build it or test it. You choose the topic.

Resources

Circuits, music basics, Arduino, sound tools, Python and Onshape: what each is for and where to learn it.

Software at a Glance

Every tool in one table: cost, account, and whether it runs in the browser.

Science Fair & Deadlines

Region III dates, paperwork and what you need to hand in.

Schedule & Info

When and where we meet, what a meeting looks like, and what you make.

What a meeting looks like

We meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 3 to 5 pm in room 3106. Each week has a short round-robin where everyone shares what they are interested in, what they learned, and their plan for next week. One person gives a featured presentation, and the job rotates through the team.

Nothing is graded. Everyone gets written feedback against a shared rubric.

How to join

Come by room 3106 on a Monday or Wednesday at 3 pm, or email alsousa@fallriverschools.org or tlamar@fallriverschools.org.
